A rechargeable battery consists of electrochemical cells and come in many different sizes. Different combinations of chemicals are used to store power: lead acid, nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), lithium ion (Li-ion), and lithium ion polymer (Li-ion polymer).

In many circumstances, rechargeable batteries have economic and environmental benefits compared to disposable batteries, although they have a higher initial cost.

The biggest Advantage of rechargeable batteries is of course that it is possible to recharge them up to 1000 times, depending on the specific type of battery.
